By Giving Back
Seva means 'selfless service', and at The Ashram, we are focused on serving the Divine. Because we see the Divine in our Guru, in Mother Earth, in animals, in our community and in ourselves, we feel that everything we do is seva.
Whether it is repairing a faucet, leading an OM Chanting circle, editing a video, or cleaning a toilet, we serve the Lord and His people this way.
Performing normal tasks like washing dishes with seva in mind is a unique ashram experience. In fact, it is so important that Paramahamsa Vishwananda has specifically instructed that seva be part of everyone's daily schedule, including all of our overnight guests.
Where to Serve
Like to be outside?
Our Garden Team is always eager to have helpers who enjoy getting their hands dirty and serving Mother Earth. The Ashram gardens are very lush and very loved. With both flower gardens and vegetable gardens, there is always plenty to do to bring beauty to the surroundings and bring food to the table.
Prefer simple but physical tasks?
Our Housekeeping team makes our entire centre sparkling and welcoming for everyone. You'll see them in the pink aprons, tirelessly cleaning every surface to make sure it is a lovely sight for all our guests and especially for our Guruji.
Have construction or building skills?
Our Construction and Facilities team gets to create new structures, furnishings, and garden support. If you like to fix what's broken, assemble furnishings and use power tools, that's the team for you.
Enjoy preparing food?
The Kitchen team prepares all of our vegetarian meals fresh and hot for all of our residents and guests every day. If you'd like to experience prepping ingredients in a prayerful state, in silence or to beautiful music, the kitchen is where you want to be.
