The Joy Of Life
Seva is a lifestyle, Seva is the joy of life, and Seva is a way to connect every moment to the Divine. It is about bringing people together and to share the beauty we have inside of us. Done properly, we can realise that Seva is in every breath of our lives; it is the essence of who we are.
The simple act of care, the simple act of love, and the power of Seva, are the key ingredients for change to happen in this world and in the whole universe.
You have the choice to choose your way of selfless service when you are a daily visitor or when you are part of a Bhakti Seva Program.
Want to know more about Seva?
The word 'Seva' comes from two Sanskrit root words: 'saha' which means 'that with' and 'eva' which means 'too'. Together, they mean: that which is done in response to improve the condition of the collective.
As human beings, we want to express ourselves and selfless service is a way to do it in so many different ways. To be surrounded by like-minded people who live in service to others is something which is an inspiration and a reminder of why we are here.
To have the experience of Seva in The Ashram means to connect to people, nature and life itself, but what is most important, to the unlimited Divine Source which is present in the entire creation.
Being in an environment which encourages Seva is the best way to have a deeper experience of it, as it is a major part of the mindset of the people living here. To see the joy in the eyes of somebody doing Seva and to have this feeling of care, is something which touches our hearts.
In the case of Seva in the Bhakti Marga context, the various services that we have the opportunity to give here stand as a reminder of the goal that we are growing into. Seva is, for all intents and purposes, a service to us, giving us the certainty that all service is essentially to the One who is serving us.
See for yourself how Seva can manifest this joy you have inside.
